Background: Food poisoning is defined as a health disorder caused by the consumption of contaminated food. First aid for food poisoning is crucial because it can reduce the harmful effects of toxins and prevent more severe complications from occurring.

Purpose: To analyze the effectiveness of tabletop exercise simulation in improving food poisoning management skills.

Method: This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. A total sampling technique was used, involving 40 respondents. Data were collected using a food poisoning management skills questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test.

Results: The results of the univariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test revealed a significant difference in skill levels before and after the tabletop exercise simulation intervention, with a significance value of p < 0.05. These findings indicate that the tabletop exercise simulation had a positive effect on improving food poisoning management skills among students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Mlati.

Conclusion: Tabletop exercise simulation was effective in improving food poisoning management skills at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Mlati.
