Background: The readiness of anesthesiology nursing students to undertake clinical practice remains a significant concern, particularly regarding ethical principles and clinical  responsibilities. Inadequate preparedness may increase the risk of clinical errors and ethical violations. Therefore, educational interventions such as instructional videos are needed to enhance students’ readiness before entering clinical settings.

Purpose: To determine the effect of an educational video on ethics and clinical responsibilities on students’

readiness for clinical practice.

Method: This study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 66 undergraduate students enrolled in the Applied Bachelor of Anesthesiology Nursing Program at Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta, selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a student readiness questionnaire based on a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test.

Result: The findings demonstrated an increase in students’ readiness scores following exposure to the educational video on ethics and clinical responsibilities. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test yielded a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant effect of the educational video on students’ readiness for clinical practice.

Conclusion: The educational video on ethics and clinical responsibilities significantly improved the readiness of anesthesiology nursing students to undertake clinical practice.
