Background: Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) is an infectious disease characterized by acute inflammation of the upper and lower respiratory tracts. Globally, ARI is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality, especially in children under five years of age. ARI is associated with several risk factors, including environmental factors (53.4%), individual child factors (26.6%), and behavioral factors (20%). Based on the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), the highest prevalence of ARI in Indonesia was found in children aged 1–4 years (4.9%). Lampung Province had an ARI prevalence of 1.9%, and Bandar Lampung recorded 1,202 cases in 2023.

Purpose: To determine the characteristics of acute respiratory infection (ARI) by age, sex, and nutritional status among patients.

Method: This study used a retrospective descriptive design.

Results: The results showed that, among 85 patients with acute respiratory infection, the highest frequency was found in the 13–36-month age range, totaling 56 individuals (65.9%). In terms of sex, 49 patients (57.6%) were male, and 60 patients (70.6%) had good nutritional status.

Conclusion: Among the 85 patients with acute respiratory infection, most were aged 13–36 months (56 individuals), were male (49 individuals), and had good nutritional status (60 individuals).
